What gutter services do you offer in Montreal?

We specialize in seamless gutter installation in Montreal, gutter replacement, gutter repairs, and gutter cleaning. We also install gutter guards.

Do you install gutters on existing homes?

Yes. Most of our work includes installing and replacing gutters on existing homes in Montreal and surrounding areas.

Do you repair existing eavestroughs?

Yes, we repair eavestroughs when it is possible. For example, we can replace downspouts if they are broken or seal leaky corners. Sometimes the gutters are old and in bad shape, and replacement is the best solution.

What types of eavestroughs do you install?

We install seamless aluminum eavestroughs with aluminum downspouts. Our gutters are fastened with the DURAMAX bracket system. We also offer installation of leaf covers (Gutter Clean model) to reduce the need for gutter cleaning.

Why is the DURAMAX bracket superior to other support systems?

DURAMAX-175 is the strongest bracket on the market today. Each bracket can support up to 175 lbs. We fasten the brackets with heavy duty 2-inch #12 screws, equipped with a rubber gasket to guarantee it stays water proof. The DURAMAX brackets have a triangle shape which distributes all of the weight of ice and snow to the base of the bracket. This directs the pressure toward the strong structure of the house rather than the front edge of the gutter. This is a unique design feature which is not found in other brackets. It provides a lot of durability against the harsh conditions of Quebec winters.

Why does your company not install continuous hanger systems such as T-Rex?

gouttière briséeThese systems are a two-in-one system which perform both the job of a support system and a leaf cover. This is very practical to install because there is only one system instead of two systems to install. It is also lower cost for the installer because again, there is only one system instead of two systems. The problem; however, is that the material of the leaf cover is not as thick or as strong as our bracket system and it is more likely to fail. We have seen several cases where the weight of snow and ice in the winter has caused two-in-one systems such as the T-Rex to unclip from the gutter. When the support system fails like this, the entire gutter must be replaced even if it is otherwise in good condition. The photo on the right shows what happens when a continuous hanger cover unclips from the gutter.

The DURAMAX brackets are made with 0.0508 inch thick aluminum (16 gauge) whereas the T-Rex leaf covers are made of a much thinner 0.0175 inch material..

débris gouttièresThe second disadvantage of the continuous hanger system is that the leaf covers cannot be removed without uninstalling the whole gutter. The leaf covers generally do a good job at keeping debris out of the gutter; however, after many years it is sometimes required to open them up and thoroughly clean the gutters to ensure good functionality. This is especially true if you live in an area with an abundance of trees. The picture on the right shows the amount of debris that we found inside of an 11 year old gutter that had leaf covers installed. If this gutter had the Gutter Clean system installed, it could have been opened for cleaning and then had the leaf covers re-installed. Unfortunately, since this gutter had a continuous hanger, the homeowner needed to have entirely new gutters installed.

What type of gutter guards do you install?

We install the Gutter Clean M5300 leaf covers, manufactured by Alu-Rex. These gutter guards are installed on top of the DURAMAX bracket, meaning that the gutter is always supported by a strong heavy duty bracket. Based on our experience installing gutters in the Montreal area, the best results are achieved by using a bracket support system to hold up the gutter and a separate leaf cover system to keep debris out of the gutter. This results in a stronger, more durable eavestrough compared to a two-in-one system.

Do you install rain barrels?

We do not sell rain barrels because there are so many different models, and the choice depends on each individual’s preferences. Many municipalities in Montreal offer rain barrels to their citizens at very low prices which is often the best way to purchase a rain barrel. If the customer provides a rain barrel, we can setup a downspout to direct water into the barrel.

How much does gutter installation cost in Montreal?

The price of gutter installation varies based on home size, roof complexity, and linear footage. The best way to get accurate pricing is with a free quote after reviewing your property.

Do you provide free quotes?

Yes. We offer fast, no obligation free estimates for gutter installation or replacement. Many quotes can start with photos and basic details submitted through our contact form.

Is your estimate a fixed price?

Yes, we provide a lump-sum estimate. Our quotes are firm unless hidden issues (like rotten fascia boards) are discovered during the installation of gutters, in which case we always discuss options with the customer before proceeding.

How long does it take to install eavestroughs?

Most residential gutter installations are completed within one day.

When is the best time to install gutters in Montreal?

Spring, summer and fall are the ideal seasons for gutter installation. Our eavestrough installation season normally starts at the end of March and ends some time in December, depending on weather conditions.

Do you install gutters in the winter?

Full eavestrough installations cannot be completed when everything is frozen. Some repairs and emergency fixes are possible.

Do I need gutters on my house?

Yes, gutters are very important for homes in Quebec. Water falling off of the roof can damage the structure of your foundation, your siding or bricks, and even your landscaping. Eavestroughs catch the roof water and direct it away from the house in a controlled fashion to prevent water damage.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

We recommend cleaning your gutters twice per year – once in the spring and once in the fall after all of the leaves have fallen. If you install leaf guards, the requirement to clean the gutters can be significantly reduced, or even eliminated in some cases.

How often should gutters be replaced?

Professional quality gutters that are installed properly can easily last more than 30 years. If your gutters are damaged, leaking or overflowing, it may be time to replace them.

Do you offer a warranty on your gutters?

Yes. We provide a 10 year warranty on workmanship and extend the manufacturers’ warranties on materials.
